2012 Constitution Document.....

The new 2012 Constitution (circulated before the 2012 AGM and formally accepted by members at the meeting) replaces the 1994 Constitution and all subsequent Rules amendments, incorporating them into our new governing document. 

At this year's AGM it was also proposed that the Society's new 2012 Constitution was published on this website.

The Charity Commission were contacted over this matter and have given their agreement, so you can download a p.d.f. copy to your computer by clicking on this link.....

Postage Costs Soar.....

The cost of sending a second class letter has risen to 50 pence.

We have compiled a list of about 20 members who have opted-in to receiving their communications from us via email.

We strongly urge all members to consider this option and we're sure that almost everyone in the membership has friends or family who can assist, even if they are not on the web themselves!

Please contact the committee using the comments facility below if you wish to opt-in.

Winter Programme VI: Reminder.....

The final session of this year's Winter Progamme is ?????, led by artist Janet Bligh, who is a professional artist and a member of the society.

Janet will be focusing particularly on ...............transforming landscapes into abstract images???

The format will be an Art Master Class, with the members who have booked their place (for a small charge) as active participants, taking part in the workshop element.

You are welcome to attend as an observer (no charge to members) and we hope that there will again be interaction between all those present.

The session is from 12.30pm - 3.30pm on Thursday 5th April and the venue is the St Paul's Parish Centre, Sketty.

Winter Programme V: Reminder.....

The fifth session of this year's Winter Progamme is Painting In Watercolours, led by Pembrokeshire based professional artist Graham Hadlow, who is a great friend of the society.

Graham will be focusing particularly on the portrayal of skies in the watercolour medium.

The format will be an Art Master Class, with the members who have booked their place (for a small charge) being active participants, via taking part in the workshop element.

You are welcome to attend as an observer (no charge to members) and we hope that there will again be interaction between all those present.

The session is from 12.30pm - 3.30pm on Thursday 1st March and the venue is the St Paul's Parish Centre, Sketty.

AGM: 2012 Irene Bache Cup Winner......

Congratulations to Dr. Alan Marriott, who won the Irene Bache Cup for the best members' painting entered at this year's AGM. 

Alan is pictured here being presented with the cup by our President, Miss Eileen Campbell Jones. 

The winning painting, a lovely watercolour depiction of a seascape with boats had been delicately executed by Alan. It was voted top painting in the final head-to-head vote against an atmospheric river scene in acrylic medium, by Mrs. Lilian Hopkins, which was voted runner-up.

Winter Programme IV: Reminder.....

The fourth session of this year's Winter Progamme is entitled Pastel Portraits, and will be led by Cowbridge based artist Sue McDonagh.

Sue will be focusing particularly on drawing faces and hands in this medium.

The format again will be an Art Master Class, with the members who have booked their place (for a small charge) involved as active participants, through taking part in the workshop element.

All members are welcome to attend as observers (free of charge) and we hope that there will again be interaction between all those present.

The session is from 12.30pm - 3.30pm on Thursday 2nd February and the venue is the St Paul's Parish Centre, Sketty.

2012 Annual General Meeting.....

All our current members should have received their Agenda and Nomination Forms for the forthcoming AGM.

Included in the current mailing also is:

• Minutes of last year's AGM
• the January 2012 Newsletter
• Membership Renewal Forms 
• and the new proposed Society Constitution.

It will be held on Thursday, 16th February at its usual time and venue, i.e. 7pm at St. Paul's Parish Centre, Sketty, Swansea.

There will be a raffle and any member who wishes to donate a prize should contact the President.

All 2011 members are invited to attend.

Painting For Pleasure: New Term.....

The first session of the Painting For Pleasure meetings at Hazel Court next year will be on Wednesday, 4th January, 2012.

Winter Exhibition Ends.....

Reminder: The exhibition will be taken down on Friday 2nd December and the unsold artworks will be available for return to members from 12noon to 2pm.
