The final session of the 2009 Summer Sketching Programme is to be held at Swansea's Brynmill Park on Saturday 26th September.
Members should meet at the newly-built Discovery Centre at the heart of the park at 12 noon and the session lasts until around 4pm (weather permitting).
The park offers a wide range of sketching and painting opportunities, e.g. the rose beds (pictured here) and other flowers and shrubs/trees, the lake with its wildfowl and the Discovery Centre itself.
All members are welcome. There are many opportunities for sketching or painting - even if the weather is wet. The Monastery ruins and the Orangery are suitable subjects for artists, as well as the Church and the Walled Gardens. The Postcode is SA13 2TJ (for your SatNav). Our venue is the gardens at the Christian Retreat and Conference Centre at Nicholaston House, Penmaen, Gower. The session lasts from around 12 noon to about 4pm, when there's a mini exhibition.
This location offers a choice of painting opportunities. Please come along - those who did last year really enjoyed themselves.

The session lasts from around 12 noon to about 4pm, when there's a mini exhibition.
This venue will offer a choice of painting vistas.

Saturday 13th June is the date of the third session of our 2009 Summer Sketching Programme. Our venue is the Blackpill area and Clyne Gardens off the Mumbles Road and you should park in the section of the car park at the Woodman Inn (entrance pictured) which is reserved for visitors to the park.
The session lasts from around 12 noon to about 4pm, when there's a mini exhibition.
Last year this venue was enjoyed by everyone and this is a lovely venue in which to paint, e.g. the flora, fauna and garden architecture of Clyne Gardens, the play area at Blackpill or the seascape of Swansea Bay.
Please come along - you'll really enjoy yourself.

Saturday 23rd May is the date of the second session of our 2009 Summer Sketching Programme.
Our venue is the village of Rhossili and you should park at the main car park as you enter the village (charge payable).
The session lasts from around 12 noon to about 4pm, when there's a mini exhibition.
Last year this venue was a complete washout, but we've got our fingers crossed this time for fine weather, as this is a lovely picturesque venue in which to paint. Please come along - you'll really enjoy yourself.
However, in Rhossili as in all outdoor painting events, you should always take care, as this area can be dangerous.
For those of you who have Sat Nav systems, the postcode of the Visitor Centre (nearby) is SA3 1PR, but as the road stops at this point you should hopefully hear the "you've now reached your destination" message long before you reach the cliff's edge!
